At the Disco, Twenty One Pilots, Willow. È la prima volta nella storia in cui un artista italiano vince in una delle principali categorie internazionali dei Video Music Awards americani. La band si è anche esibita suonando Supermodel, non senza una piccola controversia (vedi news).
Presentata da LL Cool J, Jack Harlow e Nicki Minaj, la cerimonia di premiazione si è svolta ieri sera al Prudential Center di Newark, New Jersey. Tra gli altri vincitori, Harry Styles (suoi i premi per il pezzo pop dell’anno, As It Was, e per l’album, Harry’s House), Taylor Swift (la versione da 10 minuti di All Too Well è stata premiata come video dell’anno, video longform e per la regia di Swift), Billie Eilish (la canzone dell’anno è la sua Happier Than Ever), Bad Bunny (artista dell’anno), Jack Harlow e Lil Nas X per il pluripremiato Industry Baby. Nella categoria Best Rock si sono affermati i Red Hot Chili Peppers con Black Summer. Gruppo dell’anno i BTS.
