Ascolta ‘Smell the Roses’, il nuovo brano di Roger Waters

Il primo singolo estratto da 'Is This The Life We Really Want?' affronta i temi della guerra e della corruzione

Un giorno dopo aver rivelato i dettagli del suo nuovo disco, Is This The Life We Really Want?, Roger Waters, l’ex bassista e autore dei Pink Floyd, ha pubblicato il primo singolo estratto dall’album, intitolato Smell the Roses.

“Wake up and smell the roses”, canta Waters nel ritornello. “There’s nothing but screams in the field of dreams. Nothing but hope at the end of the rope”. “This is the room where they make the explosions / Where they put your name on the bomb / Here’s where they bury ‘buts’ and ‘ifs’, scratch our words like ‘right and ‘wrong’”, sono alcuni dei versi più politicizzati del testo.

“Wake up, wake up and smell the phosphorus”, Is This The Life We Really Want?, il primo disco rock di Roger Waters dopo 25 anni – Amused to Death è uscito nel del 1992 -, uscirà il 2 giugno per Columbia.
